Schedule a Bone Density Scan (DEXA)

If your doctor or provider has ordered a bone density scan (DEXA scan), please use the form below to schedule your exam.

About bone density scans/DEXA: A bone density (DEXA) scan is similar to an x-ray that quickly and accurately measures the density of bone. It is used primarily to detect osteopenia or osteoporosis, conditions in which the risk of fractures is increased.

Bone Density Scan (DEXA) Guidelines
  • Patients must have a physician order to complete a bone density scan
    • If your physician hasn’t already ordered this test for you, please contact your physician office to request an order before scheduling.
  • Women who are 65 years or older without previous known fractures
    • Medicare covers this exam every two years
  • Men or women 65 or older who may have secondary causes of osteoporosis
  • Women younger than 65 years who may have additional risk factors for osteoporosis
  • Patient must NOT have had imaging with Barium or CT Oral Prep within 7 days of a bone density scan

Schedule a Screening Mammogram

A screening mammogram is an x-ray of the breast performed for women who have no signs nor symptoms of breast cancer, and no known breast problems or abnormalities. The objective of performing an annual screening mammogram is to detect breast cancer or other breast problems before clinical signs are noticeable. A screening mammogram usually involves two x-rays of each breast.

A diagnostic mammogram is performed when there is a known breast concern, such as a lump, or after an abnormality is found on a screening mammogram. If symptoms are present, please contact your healthcare provider to discuss scheduling a diagnostic mammogram and a breast ultrasound. A screening mammogram cannot be performed when you are symptomatic.

Screening Guidelines

  • Must be at least one year since your last screening mammogram
  • Must not be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • If you need a Primary Care physician visit our Find a Doctor
  • If you experience unusual breast symptoms at any age, contact your primary care doctor before scheduling an appointment
