What screenings will be included?

Blood Pressure, Height & Weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Circumference, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Cholesterol Ratio, Triglycerides, Blood Glucose, Chemistry Panel lab test, and Tobacco/Nicotine status. Needle draw (venipuncture) is used to obtain blood for Lipid Profile and Chemistry tests. An optional PSA screening (blood test) will also be available to men 50 and older or those at a high risk for prostate cancer. An optional colon cancer take-home screening kit will also be available. Colon screening is recommended annually for adults 50 and older. Additional optional blood tests will include a Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) test, and Complete Blood Count (CBC) test.

Friday, June 7th, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. (Memorial Southside Office)

Do I need to fast?

Yes—12 hours. Take medication as prescribed. (We will schedule individuals with diabetes early if requested.) Drinking water is permitted and highly encouraged.

¨ To monitor improved health from year to year.

How long does it take?

About 15 minutes. Appointments will be made every 10 minutes.

What does it cost?

The cost of the basic screening will be paid by the company for all insured employees and insured spouses. All men wishing to take the PSA blood test will need to pay an additional $22, and the colon cancer kits are an additional $9. The TSH and CBC blood tests are $14 each. The fees for these additional tests will be collected the day of the screening.
