Stacy Kotsko was named the 2023 recipient of the Little Company of Mary Award at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. The LCM Award is given annually to an employee nominated by his or her co-workers and chosen from a group of finalists by the hospital’s Mission Committee. Nominees for this award demonstrate Memorial Hospital’s mission and core values through their daily work.
Stacy is a tech in the Emergency Department. Upon receiving the award, Stacy stated, “The mission statement of Memorial Hospital – ‘Be For Others’ – has always been dear to me. That’s why God put us here, to lift one another up as we travel along life’s path. I’m certainly nothing special, and imperfect as the day is long, but that’s what God uses, imperfect vessels. It’s funny what He can do if you let Him.” She continued, “Being for others with my Memorial family is something I truly thank God for. He uses my co-workers, our patients, and their families to draw me closer with each passing day. That’s not to say that there aren’t challenging days, but when we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and His words, it sure makes it a lot more fruitful. I also thank God for my parents showing me what faith is and for raising us right.”
Stacy is very prayerful and credits many scripture passages for helping her through life’s challenges. One of her favorite passages is Colossians 3:23: “And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men….” Stacy concluded, “This season back at Memorial Hospital only adds to the beauty and gratitude of this God-story life of mine.”
Other nominees for the award included: Dawn Hay, Radiology; Dusti Hillyard, Women & Infant Services; Melissa Knust, Oncology; Barbara Weisman, Volunteer and Guest Services; and Kate Willegal-Russ, Quality Services.
