U.S. News & World Report identified Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Skilled Caring Center as a Best Nursing Home for 2018-19. Memorial Hospital has earned this designation for the past eight years. U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes nationwide, and this year, Memorial Hospital was one of 2,975 that earned the designation of a U.S. News Best Nursing Home.

For the 2018-19 ratings, U.S. News introduced a new and first of its kind Short-Stay Rehabilitation rating. This new rating aims to provide patients with a clearer view of the quality of care provided by nursing homes to short-stay patients in need of intensive rehabilitation or nursing services before they return home after a surgery, stroke, accident, or illness. Out of nearly 13,000 nursing homes that were evaluated, Memorial Hospital was one of 2,042 that earned a High-Performing rating in Short-Stay Rehabilitation. The Skilled Caring Center also earned a High-Performing rating overall.

Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Caring Center is a fully independent, short-term, skilled nursing residence that provides 24-hour professional nursing care as well as physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapy; social services; activities and nutrition services.  Cheryl Welp serves as Skilled Caring Center Administrator, and Michelle Wineinger is Director of Nursing.  For more information about the Skilled Caring Center, please call 812-996-0596.
