Laboratory Services

Under the direction of Dr. Daniel Weaver, board certified pathologist, Memorial Hospital’s Laboratory is open daily providing a comprehensive array of professional services including coagulation, chemistry/toxicology, hematology, microbiology, transfusion services, urinalysis, cytology and histology.

The staffs of medical technologists, medical technicians, histology technologists, cytology technologists, laboratory assistants and medical transcriptionists are responsible for accurately completing approximately 1,000,000 tests per year including inpatient and outpatient tests. A courier service, complete with needed supplies, is provided to area nursing homes and physician offices for the collection of specimens. The department holds certifications from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

The Outpatient Lab, located near Patient Registration on the hospital’s first level, is open 5:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, and 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Please bring your insurance cards, photo ID, and physician order if one was given to you. It is also important that you follow instructions on what foods and medicines can be taken before having your blood drawn.
