This American Heart Association course provides information on how to manage illness and injuries until professional help arrives on the scene. The class consists of four core modules: General Principles of First Aid, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies, and Environmental Emergencies. Skills taught include adult and infant CPR, AED use, and relief of choking in adults, children and infants. In order to receive a course completion card, participants must pass a written first aid test and a skills evaluation in CPR and AED.

This breast-feeding support group is hosted for moms and their newborns. Subject areas include weight checks, mom-to-mom support, and mom and baby transitions at home such as pumping and returning to work and adding solids.

Using current research on baby behavior, our class instructors will help you better understand your baby. Some of the topics include infant sleep, feeding cues, and crying. This class is highly recommended before the birth of the baby, however, it is also helpful within the first 1-2 months of the baby being born. This class is FREE for moms who deliver at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. $15.00 for any mom not delivering at Memorial Hospital. Specific class questions: please call 996-0383.

You will receive an e-mail class confirmation regarding payment, it's standard messaging response for all our classes. Class fee is $65.00 for anyone not delivering at Memorial Hospital. This program provides information and cosmetic advice to women battling cancer. Training includes hands-on instruction on makeup, skin care, and suggestions for using wigs, turbans, and scarves. Tips for nail care while undergoing cancer treatment are also included. Facilitated by trained, licensed cosmetologists who are American Cancer Society volunteers.

PAD affects more than 8 million Americans and nearly 20% of those affected will experience heart attack, stroke, or hospitalization. Join Dr. Joshua Leonard, Memorial Hospital Cardiologist, as he discusses symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of PAD. Dinner is included, and pre-registration is required.

There are 2 types of lymphedema, primary and secondary. Primary is inherited and occurs when there are fewer lymph nodes or abnormal functioning nodes. Secondary can occur from trauma, surgery, radiation, cancer, and infection which lead to damage to existing lymph vessels or nodes. In secondary lymphedema, swelling may develop within days or may take years to become apparent
